In this episode of Win the Day:

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." — Carl Jung

Today we’re sitting down with Rich Christiansen who I’ve become a great admirer of for his values blueprint, family philosophy, and general approach to building a life and career you love.

This is his second appearance on the podcast. In our first conversation, Episode 230, Rich shared his personal story of growing up, detailed his upbringing being the “eyes” for his father who was a highly successful lawyer—despite being blind—and the shocking personal discovery he made at age 53.

Rich also introduced the Legado Family Framework, specifically the rites of passage he designed for his children to build resilience, financial independence, and ensure the continued success of his family for generations to come.

We went through his "addiction" to business creation—as founder of 51 companies—and his transition toward "facing his dragons" to find inner peace.

In today’s episode:

  • How to determine your values—and live by them
  • Why most people never reach their full potential
  • What it means to live a life of alignment
  • How you can be the catalyst for generational wealth and success for your family.

Let’s WIN THE DAY with Rich Christiansen!

Inspiring quotes in this episode:
  • "When you get behind the layers, the ultimate human question is, 'Am I enough?' And our ultimate need is to be felt, seen, and heard." — Rich Christiansen
  • "We can't completely de-masculate and tear men apart. Societally, we need sovereign queens and sovereign kings, both standing in power." — Rich Christiansen
  • "If your significant other doesn't drive you completely crazy, they're not doing their job. If they don’t, your children are guaranteed to unravel you. That's their job, is to get you more patient, temperate, expand your soul. Because I really think that's why we're down here is soul expansion, tension, and to build more soul character." — Rich Christiansen
  • "Do the right thing, damn the torpedo." — Rich Christiansen
  • "If it's 5 minutes of 'I' without a 'we' in there, you know what? We're probably not a great alignment fit." — Rich Christiansen
  • "We have to have the courage to say no. It's actually very appropriate to screen people out. It doesn't mean you can't be friendly, but not necessarily deep friends. Deep true trust takes time to develop." — Rich Christiansen
  • "It's not until we really get clear on our own values and what we stand for, then we can link it with our significant other." — Rich Christiansen
  • "What do most sons crave from their fathers? It's 'You're enough.' Say, 'You're a man now. You’ve got this. I believe in you.'" — Rich Christiansen
  • "Most dysfunction with young women and their mothers come from the mothers not cutting the apron strings. So cut the apron strings. Let them be their own vibrant woman, and then stand in support. I like to call that, 'Hold, don't carry.' We can hold the space with them, but we don't have to carry the burden and take it away. It diminishes them." — Rich Christiansen
  • "In our family, the ones we removed were guilt, shame, and scarcity. So no, we don't do that. We extracted that out and we're not going to engage in addictive behaviors. In this family, it's expected to have this value base and not be in that state." — Rich Christiansen
  • "We're all coping the best we can. We’ve got to stand by individuals in their challenge, but not carry it." — Rich Christiansen
